Meet Dr. Mo Zakhireh
Dr. Mo Zakhireh, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon serving Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and Riverside, saw firsthand the benefits of cosmetic surgery at a very young age. A family member was born without an ear and the plastic surgeon recalls her struggles vividly. "Every time since I can remember, I’ve been around ear, nose and throat doctors and plastic surgeons," he says. "I fell into it that way. I was in awe of them and what they could do to heal people."
A Texas Tech Medical School graduate, Dr. Zakhireh completed his general surgery residency at UCLA Harbor. Upon finishing a plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Utah, Dr. Zakhireh was invited to join the staff as a professor of plastic surgery. Although he enjoyed his time in Salt Lake City, a 2004 visit to the Coachella Valley drastically altered his plans. "I absolutely fell in love with it here and I moved six months later!" he enthuses. "The mountains and open spaces have an exotic, calming quality to them."
In 2005, Dr. Zakhireh joined the team at Cosmetic Surgery Institute of Palm Desert. When Dr. Craig Ball retired in December 2007, Dr. Zakhireh took over the practice. "We’re the premier full-service cosmetic surgery center in the desert. We offer both surgical and non-surgical solutions to cosmetic issues under one roof. In addition to our medical staff and estheticians are exceptionally customer service driven." Dr. Zakhireh specializes in facelifts, abdominoplasty, liposculpturing, and breast augmentation. Dr. Zakhireh is proud that vendors have noted his practice number one in the valley for Botox and Restylane treatments.
